An electric shock is where a person has come into contact with exposed live parts where sufficient current has flowed through the body for the person to perceive or receive the sensation of electric shock regardless of the shock magnitude. A tingle from a water tap or metal around the house is also an electric shock. It can also be a sign of a network fault that if not investigated immediately someone may be injured or killed.
REPORT ALL SHOCKS AND TINGLES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
If you witness an electrical accident, it is important to respond quickly and with caution. If a person has been injured, ring 000 immediately.
Wires down can kill! If you see wires down, stay away from fallen wires and warn others to stay away. Ring 000 immediately.
Any person who receives an electric shock or tingle should seek medical attention as serious symptoms may arise some time later.
